Additionally, bailey bridge experienced staff is available for field consulting on bridge applications and to assist in proper bailey bridge field assembly, installation and dismantling of Bailey bridges and in the installation of small to mid sized fixed pedestrian and vehicular bridges.

 

Bailey bridge panels were assembled into "bays", which were complete 10' bridge sections. Additional bays were pinned together until the required length of bailey bridge was reached, then additional counter-balance sections were added and the complete bailey bridge was "launched" on rollers across the gap.  The individual bailey bridge components were light enough to be handled and assembled by engineer troops without the need of a crane. In most cases, bailey bridge was launched across the gap by engineer troops using only ropes and pulleys.
